Overview

DBS systems are developed to deliver electrical stimulation to targeted deep brain nuclei for the modulation of abnormal neuronal activity associated with central nervous system disorders. By regulating dysfunctional neural signaling within specific brain regions, these systems are primarily used for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease and primary dystonia, helping alleviate severe motor and non-motor symptoms.

Since obtaining our foundational Class III medical device registration certificate from the NMPA in 2013, we have systematically expanded our DBS technology stack into an integrated hardware and software ecosystem.

System composition

Deep Brain Stimulation system includes in vivo implantable products and in vitro products. In vivo products include an electrode, an extension and a pulse generator. In vitro products include a patient controller, a physician programmer, an in vitro charger and a test stimulator.

Mechanism of Neural Interaction

Through the regularization of stimulation-induced neural output patterns, our DBS systems suppress local neuronal firing while simultaneously activating both orthodromic and antidromic axonal conduction. By exerting complex excitatory and inhibitory effects, our DBS systems modulate the basal ganglia–thalamocortical network and normalize the pathological firing patterns associated with Parkinson’s disease, thereby improving both motor and non-motor symptoms in patients with Parkinson’s disease. The following diagram illustrates the working mechanism of our DBS systems.
